Hola Frida tells the story of an extraordinary young girl growing up in early 20th-century Coyoacán, Mexico, surrounded by colour, culture, and love. Curious and full of life, she explores the world with an open heart – until illness strikes and polio changes everything. School, friends, and childhood joys disappear. They are replaced by solitude and pain. Yet Frida finds refuge in imagination, meeting an invisible companion who helps her rediscover strength, hope, and the will to keep going.
